The numbers to save today, what happens when you call, and what to have ready before you ever need it.

- 1669 — ambulance and medical emergencies, free, 24 hours.
- 1155 — Tourist Police, English-speaking, 24 hours.
- 191 — police. 199 — fire.
- 1784 — disaster and flood help from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
- Register with your embassy so they can contact you in a crisis.

What to do in an emergency
Medical: call 1669 or go straight to the nearest private hospital emergency room if you are insured — for many emergencies a taxi is faster than waiting.
Crime or a scam: call 1155. For a police report you will need your passport.
Flood or earthquake: follow official warnings, not social media. The Safety signals panel on your Journey shows official alerts from USGS and GDACS.
Lost passport: report it to the police, get the report, then contact your embassy.
Have ready before you need it
Your address written in Thai, for taxis and ambulances.
Insurance card and policy number, blood type, allergies and medicines — keep them in the emergency card in the app.
A copy of your passport and visa page on your phone.
